Seven operating markets in this guide. Check the state licence, eligible location and exact casino platform.
Online Blackjack in the USA: Options by State

For US players, the first question is where you will be playing. This guide explains state-regulated casinos, offshore casino licensing, free practice, live-dealer and digital games, plus the bonus and banking details worth checking. Start with your state to find the relevant route.
Choose a state from the guides below. All guides and comparison sections are available without using the selector.
Checked October 31, 2026. Operator approvals and launch status can change; follow the regulator links for the latest information.
An overseas licence or “US accepted” label does not establish authorization in your state.
Use virtual chips to learn decisions, try a variation or practise counting without making a deposit.
These guides cover regulated online casino blackjack. Sports betting, land-based casinos and social or sweepstakes games are separate categories. A familiar brand name alone does not prove casino authorization in your state.
Two casino platforms: DraftKings and FanDuel. The state’s sportsbook list is broader, so check the casino authorization.
Three Lottery-linked casino entry points using BetRivers. Compare the Delaware offering rather than another state’s lobby.
Regulator: Delaware Lottery
A broad market overseen by MGCB. Check its internet gaming list separately from sports betting and poker listings.
Regulator: Michigan Gaming Control Board
A long-established internet casino market overseen by the DGE. Match the exact website to the state’s approved list.
Regulator: New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement
Use PGCB’s interactive gaming directory. Casino, online poker and sports wagering have separate directory pages.
Regulator: Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board
Bally Bet Casino’s Rhode Island offering. Online casino players must be 21+, despite the lower land-based casino age.
Regulator: Rhode Island Lottery
Lottery-regulated interactive wagering. Distinguish casino operators and management providers from game and payment suppliers.
Regulator: West Virginia Lottery
Maine has legalized internet gaming, including blackjack. The official material reviewed for our guide shows rulemaking and licensing preparations; we have not confirmed a launched state-approved online blackjack market. A proposed-rule comment deadline is not a casino opening date.
The guide explains what to check before treating an operator as available. It does not promise a launch date or present a playable casino list.

Here, offshore means a casino offering US access outside the relevant US state casino licensing system. Some advertise US access and may hold an overseas licence. Neither that licence nor the ability to create an account proves that the operator is authorized to offer online blackjack where you are.
A concrete example: Michigan says only MGCB-licensed operators may legally offer online gaming there, and publishes cease-and-desist notices for unlicensed operators. A casino’s own acceptance policy does not override that state position. Read the MGCB guidance.
Check the legal entity, exact domain, named regulator and current state restrictions. Verify a claimed licence with the issuing authority. Do not treat an overseas licence as a US state licence.
Identify who handles a complaint, what jurisdiction applies and how a payout dispute is escalated. Do not assume a US state gaming regulator can resolve an account dispute with an operator it does not license.
Confirm the actual game provider, rules and eligible blackjack variants. An advertised casino-wide welcome amount is not proof of a usable blackjack bonus.
Read identity checks, withdrawal limits, fees and any account restrictions before sending money. Cryptocurrency or a successful deposit does not establish legality or guarantee a withdrawal.
This section explains the category; it is not a list of offshore casinos approved for every US state. If you cannot verify authorization for your location, do not infer it from a “US players welcome” message. Our real-money comparison guide explains how to assess table rules and offer terms; a review or listing is not state approval.
The casino shortlist below is separate from the state-approved operators above. Availability depends on your location and each casino’s restrictions; a listing does not establish state authorization. Some links are affiliate links.
You can learn the mechanics without funding a casino account. Our practice tools use virtual chips with no cash value. They are educational games, not a route to redeemable winnings.
Learn the controls and practise decisions before comparing real-money tables. Read the game’s displayed rules and instructions.
Try European blackjack and see how its rules affect play. A variation’s rules can differ from another game with a similar name.
Use our counting guides and exercises to practise tracking cards. Learning a count does not mean it applies to every online game’s dealing or shuffle process.
Match the strategy chart to the rules you are practising, including the dealer’s soft-17 rule and whether surrender is available.
Free practice is different from a sweepstakes promotion. A game with prize redemptions, promotional currencies or purchases needs its own eligibility and legal checks. The word “free” alone does not settle those questions.
A real dealer is streamed to your screen. Check seats or bet-behind rules, decision time, minimum stake, table rules and what happens if the connection drops. State and operator approval still come first.
Software generates the game outcomes. These games can let you play at your own pace, but the rules, limits and shuffle process still need checking. An attractive interface does not tell you the house edge.
Neither format is automatically the better-value game. Compare the actual payout and rules, and do not assume a provider’s national catalogue is available in your state.
Before opting in, find the offer’s game-contribution table. Check whether your exact blackjack variant qualifies, whether live dealer is excluded, which balance the wagering multiplier applies to, the maximum permitted bet and the expiry date.
This is a hypothetical calculation, not a current offer or a suggested budget. At 0% contribution, blackjack bets do not advance that requirement. Total stakes recycled through play are not the same as your deposit, expected loss or maximum possible loss.
A no-bonus account may avoid bonus wagering conditions, but normal account and withdrawal rules still apply. Compare the complete terms rather than choosing solely by the advertised bonus amount.
Payment availability depends on the state, operator, account and provider. The categories below are checks to make if a method is offered, not a promise that every casino accepts it. A deposit logo does not confirm the same withdrawal option.
Check supported accounts or cards, fees, limits and payout routes. Ask the issuer about any credit-card cash-advance treatment. A rejected payment is not a reason to bypass restrictions.
Confirm the exact wallet is offered for your state and account, and whether it supports withdrawals as well as deposits. Check identity matching and any wallet-level limits.
Only use a product explicitly supported by the cashier. Do not assume a general-purpose gift card is accepted, or that winnings can be paid back to it. Confirm the separate cash-out route.
If offered, check the asset, network, address, limits and fees. Price changes can affect value. Crypto payments are typically irreversible and do not offer the same dispute protections as cards.
Payment protection reference: FTC guidance on cryptocurrency payments.
Separate the casino’s approval time from the payment provider’s transfer time. Keep transaction references and use the operator’s formal complaint route if a withdrawal is disputed. We do not promise a universal “instant” payout.

- Check where you are, not just where you live. The operating markets above require eligible in-state play. An existing account does not let you place the same casino wager from anywhere in the US.
- Verify the exact casino website. Start with the regulator’s casino or internet gaming list. A sportsbook approval, supplier licence or offshore licence is not the same authorization.
- Read the table’s rules. Check the blackjack payout, soft-17 rule, decks, doubling and splitting restrictions. A provider can offer more than one rule set.
- Read the offer and cashier separately. Blackjack may be excluded from a bonus or contribute only a small percentage. Confirm withdrawal methods, identity requirements and spending limits before depositing.
A better payout is easy to compare: a $10 winning natural pays $15 profit at 3:2, versus $12 at 6:5, with the stake returned in each case. This assumes no dealer blackjack; it is a payout example, not a prediction of session results.
Does an offshore licence make a casino legal throughout the USA?
No. An overseas licence does not establish authorization under US state gaming laws. Check your location’s rules and the exact operator; its willingness to accept you is a separate question.
Can I use cryptocurrency to avoid state restrictions?
No. A payment method does not establish gaming authorization or remove location and account requirements. Do not use payment routes or location tools to bypass restrictions.
Are the free games real-money casino accounts?
No. Our practice games use virtual chips with no cash value. They are separate from real-money casino accounts and prize-redemption promotions.
Does legal online sports betting mean online blackjack is legal too?
No. Sports wagering and online casino gaming are separate products with separate approvals. Use the casino information for the state where you plan to play.
Can I use one casino account in every regulated state?
Do not assume so. Brands, account arrangements and available games differ by state. Check the state-specific platform and its location requirements even if you already have an account with that brand.
Does every listed casino have the same blackjack games?
No. A regulatory listing identifies authorization, not a fixed game catalogue. Table rules, minimum stakes, live-dealer availability and bonus eligibility must be checked in the current lobby and offer terms.
Why is Maine separate from the seven operating markets?
Legalization and launch are different milestones. Our Maine guide covers the legal framework and rollout information without claiming that an approved online blackjack casino is already open.
What if my state is not listed here?
This hub does not verify a state-regulated real-money online blackjack market for your location. A site accepting registration or deposits is not proof of state approval. Consult your state regulator, or use our free practice game with virtual chips and no cash value.
Each state guide includes its official regulatory sources and the date checked. Casino directory entries are licensing references, not endorsements or guarantees about an individual account, table or promotion.
