This week’s blackjack roundup covers a new live variant from ICONIC21, customized tables for Rank Group, Brazil’s gambling-ban hearing and a progressive addition in Philadelphia. We also look ahead to Mohegan Sun’s November 6 tournament. News sources were checked for the week ending November 6, Australia/Sydney time; the tournament is identified separately as a scheduled event.

ICONIC21 adds house-funded doubles and splits

November 3, 2026

ICONIC21 has introduced Free Double & Split Blackjack, an unlimited-seat live game that changes how selected doubles and splits are funded. The house supplies the additional wager when a player doubles a hard 9, 10 or 11, or splits pairs from 2s through 9s and Aces.

The trade-off is important: a dealer total of exactly 22 pushes remaining non-blackjack hands instead of paying them as wins. Natural blackjack remains an exception. Players share the dealer hand but receive individual results. The practical point is to check this variant’s rules before using a strategy intended for conventional blackjack; the extra stake comes with a different settlement rule.

Rank rolls out Pragmatic Play Smart Studio tables

November 3, 2026

Pragmatic Play says it is now supplying Rank Group with Blackjack, Roulette, Auto Roulette and Auto Speed Roulette through its Smart Studio product. The November 3 announcement describes a rollout of live tables using green-screen technology to customize their appearance.

For blackjack players, this is a distribution and presentation update. Rank can adapt the studio’s visual setting and branding; the announcement does not establish a new blackjack payout or rule set. The supplier’s release does not give a table-by-table list of participating Rank brands or markets, so it should not be read as universal availability across the group.

Brazil hearing examines gambling ban; debate is not a reopening

November 3 hearing; November 5 reporting

Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court held a public hearing on November 3 about Provisional Measure 1,394/2026, which prohibited fixed-odds betting and prompted constitutional challenges. The court’s account records competing arguments about public health, illegal gambling, economic effects and legal certainty.

The development matters to online blackjack because the disputed measure also covers online casino games. COMPLETE iGAMING reported on November 5 that the hearing concluded without changing the ban. This week’s news is the hearing and the arguments presented, rather than permission for operators to restart. Requests to suspend the measure and suggestions for different treatment of sports betting and online casinos remain distinct from a court order.

Rivers Philadelphia introduces Monster Match progressive

October 30 announcement; November 4 reporting

Rivers Casino Philadelphia’s October 30 announcement introduced Player’s Edge 21 Monster Match to its progressive table-game lineup. The blackjack variant uses Spanish-style decks with the numbered 10s removed. Monster Match is an optional, separate wager built around the player’s first two cards and the dealer’s first two cards.

The practical distinction is between the main game and the progressive side bet: a qualifying combination is assessed against the Monster Match paytable, rather than simply whether the blackjack hand wins. The casino’s published jackpot figure was a dated snapshot, not a guaranteed amount for a future visit. Players should check the current paytable, qualifying wager and available jackpot at the table.
