Vegas Downtown Blackjack

Vegas Downtown Blackjack online game

Vegas Downtown Blackjack is an online blackjack game from Microgaming, whose casino games are now distributed by Games Global. It copies the double deck games found in Downtown Las Vegas: two decks, the dealer hits soft 17, and you can play up to five hands at once. It comes in the classic and Gold Series versions, in single and multi-hand.

Vegas Downtown Blackjack rules

  • Two decks
  • Dealer hits soft 17
  • Blackjack pays 3 to 2
  • Double down on any two cards
  • Double down after splitting
  • Split up to four hands
  • Split aces only once
  • Bets from $2 to $200 (single-hand Gold Series: $5 to $200)

RTP and house edge

With these rules, our analysis puts the return to player at 99.62%, a house edge of about 0.38% with perfect basic strategy. That’s slightly worse than Vegas Strip Blackjack, where the dealer stands on all 17s, but better than most shoe games in Las Vegas.

Strategy tips

Use a double deck, dealer-hits-soft-17 basic strategy chart. The main differences from a stand-on-soft-17 chart are that you double soft 18 (ace-7) against a 2 and soft 19 (ace-8) against a 6. Because you can double after splitting, split low pairs such as 2s, 3s and 6s a little more often than you would without that rule.

Where to play
