New York Man Wins Tioga Downs Blackjack Tournament

Tioga Downs Casino & Resort in Nichols, New York held a large blackjack tournament earlier this week, with a local man taking home a huge $75,000 check by beating out dozens of other players.

The big winner of the tournament is Ricky Chan, who went through the tournament’s various stages. These includes three preliminary rounds, a semi-final, and final round. His hand total beat out the other 59 players, and he played 20 hands at the final table.

Chan earned the top prize of $75,000, while second place won $10,000. Third place took home $8,000, fourth place won $5,000, fifth and sixth place won $1,000 each.

Tioga Downs President and General Manager spoke about the tournament, noting: “This tournament marks a historic milestone for Tioga Downs Casino. It’s the biggest blackjack tournament we’ve hosted, and we’re hoping to have similar tournaments like this again in 2024.
