Triple Attack Blackjack

Blackjack Variations > Triple Attack Blackjack

Triple Attack Blackjack is dealt with eight Spanish decks. This means that the tens are removed from the deck, just as they are in Spanish 21. Jacks, Queens and Kings are still in the deck.

The player places a wager in the First Attack box. The player is then dealt their first card. The player has the option of matching their first bet in the Second Attack box. The dealer is then dealt their first card and it is placed up. The player is given the option of making a Third Attack wager. A player is allowed to make this Third Attack wager even if they did not make the Second Attack wager. The player is then dealt their second card face up and the dealer’s second card is face down.

If the dealer’s up card is an ace then insurance is offered. If the player takes insurance and the dealer has it then the player is paid 2-1 unless the dealer has a suited blackjack. The player is paid 5-1 if the dealer has a suited blackjack. If the player is dealt a blackjack then they are paid even money immediately. The winning blackjack is paid before the dealer has checked for blackjack.

After the blackjacks are paid and the dealer has checked to see if they have it then the players act in turn. Players may hit, double down, stand or surrender. If a player chooses to double down or split then they must match all bets that are on the table in the single, double or triple boxes. Players may double after hitting and may double after a split. A player that splits aces must either stand or double down on the split aces hands.

If a player receives a total of six cards and does not bust then they are paid immediately before the dealer draws. A Six Card Charlie is much more common in this game compared to standard blackjack games due to the lack of tens in the deck.

The liberal rules are more than offset by the short decks and two rules that are not friendly to the player: The house hits a soft 17 and if the dealer draws to 22 then all players that did not bust, get dealt a blackjack or draw to a Six Card Charlie will push.
